The Pier Poetry Group will provide an opportunity for people who love poetry (including song lyrics) to come together and share some poems or lyrics outlining why they enjoy a particular piece, how it makes them feel or think and a brief background on the poet or songwriter. There is no requirement for academic or scholarly analysis but rather a more organic response as to why we like a particular poem or lyric, presented in an informal way, that promotes discussion and reflection.
Fortnightly on Fridays from 9 February, 11.00am to 12.30pm.
The convenor of the group will be our Poet-In-Residence, Peter Roberts and the maximum enrolment will be 10 members.

Altona's art playgroup run by Tegan Farrugia (that meets Tuesdays) will also be running a garden session on the last Friday of each month.
We'll be outside, in a fenced off garden which is part of Louis Joel Arts and Community Centre in Altona. This will be relaxed, with multiple things happening at the same time for the kids to pick and choose what they would like to do.
Activities will be things like chalk drawing on the ground, window scribbles, painting, practicing using scissors to cut up leaves and flowers, stamping on plain butchers paper, walking around or finding a quiet place to sit with a colouring sheet, and more.
It's a combination of nature play, sensory play, process art, and playgroup.

'The Kumon Method is an individualised learning method. The starting point for each Kumon student is determined individually. Students start with the level where they can attain a perfect score by studying on their own.
The worksheets have been designed in a way that allows students to figure out how to solve problems on their own. If students continue to study at their own pace, they will catch up with their school grade level and eventually advance far beyond it.'
